Here's the flu clinic volunteer opportunity I mentioned at the meeting Monday! This is the email I received about it:
"The Yolo County Department Health Services & Office of Emergency Services will be doing a FREE Flu Clinic to provide our community members with a chance to receive a flu vaccination.
Date: Saturday, November 22, 2014
Location: West Sacramento City Hall
1110 West Capitol Ave
West Sacramento, CA 95691
Clinic Time: 9:00am-2:00pm
(Volunteer Time: 8:00am – 3:00pm)
Volunteers are needed for this Flu Clinic. If you are interested in volunteering for this event please:
1. Take the “Intro to POD Operation” course online at:http://www.yolopodclasses.org/class1.html. After you have taken the course or if you already have taken this course, please go to the next step.
2. Email the Volunteer Coordinator that you are interested in volunteering for this event at: email@example.com. Please include your name, if you have volunteered in the past and that you would like to volunteer for the West Sacramento POD in November. Please do not send an email until after you have taken the above “Intro to POD Operation” Course online. We request that you take the online course prior to volunteering. An email confirmation will be sent to you registering you to volunteer for the event.
Please note all volunteers must register prior to volunteering for this flu clinic. Walk-in Volunteers cannot be accepted due to liability issues.
Nearly 80 volunteers are needed to help with registration, screening, vaccinating, crowd and traffic control, and overall management of the mass vaccination clinics. Please assist us in recruiting volunteers for this FREE Mass Vaccination Clinic by forwarding this e-mail to anyone you think may be interested.

Hi all! If you weren't aware, we had our first meeting November 10, 2014. We had a small turn out (shouts to Laurie, Kallie, Elaine and Diane for coming!), but it was productive and a great meeting nonetheless. So excited to have met some of you, and I hope to meet more of you at our fundraiser and/or our second meeting!
You can find our minutes on the homepage of our website and also on a file on our Facebook group. You do need to be logged on using a ucd e-mail address to view the google document.
Our next meeting will be on December 2, 2014. That will be a Tuesday, and the meeting will be at 7:30 pm, location TBD! We will be comparing different PA schools, as well as give progress updates on our club's status.
But a friendly reminder, our fundraiser will be this coming Monday, November 17, 2014 @ Thai Canteen 11am-10pm! Make sure to bring a pic or a copy of the flyer. Let's make this successful!
